The Democrats will hold their nominating convention Monday Aug.19-Thursday Aug. 22 in Chicago. Tune in to WPR News stations each day and evening and visit wpr.org for stories from the convention.
WPR staff, including reporters Anya van Wagtendonk, Rich Kremer and photojournalist Angela Major plus talk producer Courtney Everett, will cover the convention in Chicago. You’ll hear stories in the daily newscasts covering delegation breakfasts, Wisconsin Democrats’ speeches to the full convention and the delegation’s reactions to the political news of the day. You can view more of Angela’s photos on WPR’s Instagram feed. Feature segments on “Wisconsin Today” will include conversations with delegates, vendors and volunteers from Wisconsin.
In addition WPR reporters will cover Vice President Harris’ rally in Milwaukee on Tuesday of the convention week.
Special coverage from NPR is planned each night, including live broadcasts of key speeches from the Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz and from Presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
NPR’s special coverage, recapping the major themes and events of the day, will air on WPR News each night. Scott Detrow will host. This nightly special coverage will preempt “Fresh Air,” “Today Explained” and “Chapter A Day” on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and “The Middle” on Thursday.
