Newly commissioned works and much-loved pieces will delight audiences during this year’s broadcast of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s season on WPR. Hosted by Lori Skelton on Sundays from 2-4 p.m., this 13-week series includes “Jeder Baum spricht” by Iman Habibi, a 2020 work commissioned to honor Ludwig von Beethoven’s 250th birthday, along with selections from Richard Strauss’ “Don Juan.”

A two-performance Water Festival includes guest performances by Sonora Slocum on alto flute, Julia Coronelli on harp and Jennifer Bouton Schaub on piccolo. In addition, Aaron Diehl (pictured above) performs with the Aaron Diehl Trio on Mary-Lou Williams’s “Zodiac Suite.”
