Celebrate Make Music Day at an event near you this June 21

Make Music Day originated in France in 1982, where the Ministry of Culture imagined a day that free music could be enjoyed everywhere by everyone. They chose the Summer Solstice – June 21 – as the day and things took off. This celebration of music was such a success it’s grown into a global event. Wisconsinites have enthusiastically embraced the day with performances happening in cities, towns and villages across the state.

As big believers in the power of both listening to and performing music, Wisconsin Public Radio invites you to find a Make Music Day event near you. Find the music at a WPR-sponsored activity or head out into your community.
