Gov. Scott Walker said Monday he still plans to veto any gas tax or fee increase that may come to his desk this legislative session.
Speaking with reporters in Madison, Walker said he made a promise two years ago not to raise taxes without corresponding cuts.
“I believe taxes are too high in this state and I believe that it’s important that we keep the promises we make,” he said. “If they ultimately send me a budget that includes a gas tax increase or fee increase without a corresponding decrease, I will veto that.”
