Tune in or attend in person to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Wisconsin’s 46th Annual Tribute and Ceremony from the Capitol Rotunda on Jan. 19 at noon. The event is produced, directed, and hosted by Dr. Jonathan Øverby of WPR’s “The Road to Higher Ground with Jonathan Øverby.”
Wisconsin’s Annual Tribute and Ceremony is the oldest official state Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration in the U.S. The event is free and open to the public and all are welcome to attend in person. The theme of this year’s program is “The Power of Unity.” The keynote speaker will be Ahmed Baba, news analyst. The program will also feature music by Chicago’s Victory Travelers Gospel Group and Violinist Dr. Brianna Ware-Boggs, a Memorial Honor Guard and presentation of the 2026 MLK Heritage Awards.
The event will air and stream live at 12 p.m. on WPR Music stations and wpr.org and be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. on WPR News stations and wpr.org.
