Whooping Cranes Success Depends on Chicks

The whooping crane experiment is back in the air this week. Several young cranes are following ultralight aircraft over southern Wisconsin on a migration to Florida. The long-term success of the migration plan will depend partly on the ability of a Maryland wildlife center to keep supplying crane chicks. Chuck quirmbach visited the Maryland site last week, and filed this report.
