Pabst beer is closer to once again being made at its former home of downtown Milwaukee after almost 20 years of production elsewhere.
Eugene Kashper, the new owner of the Pabst Brewing Company, said he chose Milwaukee to continue the Pabst legacy and give back to the community.
“There is so much that the Pabst family contributed to the city. So this is a first step for us in really becoming a member of the community again,” said Kashper. “And hopefully we will have some success, and we can extend our presence here. And really give back to all of our loyal consumers who’ve been supporters of the Pabst all through these years.”

Kashper said the facility will be a microbrewery and will have five to 10 employees. The plans also call for a tasting room, a tavern and a restaurant. Kashper said he hopes to see the site in operation by next summer.
