The Milwaukee Brewers’ game Wednesday night against the Chicago Cubs was not a win-or-go-home situation. But for many gathered at Davidson Park for a watch party, it felt like it.
“It’s been so long, especially for me as an old Milwaukeean, to see the Brewers actually go this far,” said Angela Harris, a teacher in Milwaukee and lifelong Brewers fan. “We get to the playoffs, and they always end up disappointing us. And this is just so exciting right now.”
The Brewers lost Game 3 in a 4-3 nailbiter at Chicago’s Wrigley Field. While fans at the watch party hoped for a series sweep, the Crew maintains a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five National League Division Series.

Harris believes the Brewers winning the World Series would bring her students and the city together.
“People from all across the state of Wisconsin come together to celebrate Milwaukee’s teams,” Harris said. “And as a teacher, I love being able to celebrate these types of things with my students and give them one more reason to be proud of the city where they come from.”
For other fans like C.J. Latronica, the Brewers can win the World Series using the “power of friendship”— the unofficial team motto.
“We’ve got the power of friendship on our team,” Latronica said. “We just got to get after it.”
The Brew Crew entered the playoffs with the best record in professional baseball. They’ll face Chicago again at 8:08 p.m. Thursday at Wrigley Field. If a fifth game is necessary, first pitch will be at 3:38 p.m. Saturday back at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
