Heat Wave Ends In Southern Wisconsin

A week of hot, humid weather comes to an end for much of Wisconsin as a cold front moves across the state later today.

Ed Townsend of the National Weather Service in Sullivan says there could be a few thunderstorms ahead of that front, and then we can expect several days of cooler, less humid conditions.

Some of the thunderstorms may be severe, with some risk of damaging wind and large hail. The cooler, much less humid weather that follows should last for at least the next several days; much of the state will not even reach 80 again until Monday.

A heat advisory has been in effect for the southern half of Wisconsin throughout the past week’s heat wave, during which temperatures have been 10-15 degrees above average.
