New PFAS-free firefighting foam made from soybeans has Wisconsin roots
Over 70 sites across Wisconsin are contaminated with “forever chemicals,” sometimes from firefighting foams that contain toxic perpolyfluoroalkyl substances known as PFAS. A company with Wisconsin roots aims to replace PFAS-containing firefighting substances with a new foam based on soybeans.
