Searching for, identifying and collecting food resources in the wild has gained popularity in recent years, but for our distant ancestors, it was a way of life. With a little knowledge, foraging for wild food can turn our backyards into seasonal supermarkets. Author and internationally recognized edible wild plant expert Sam Thayer of Superior joins WPR’s Shereen Siewert to explain how to safely forage for food and what to do with freshly grown wild produce once you find it.

Also, Saturday, May 6 is World Accordion Day, and where better to celebrate it than at Superior’s World of Accordions Museum? Curator Helmi Harrington speaks with “Simply Superior” host Robin Washington about the weekend full of activities and concerts by masters of the instrument. Plus, we’ll revisit a 2019 tour of the museum’s thousands of instruments by world-class accordionist Michael Ward Bergeman.
