The Madison-based progressive newspaper The Capital Times celebrates its 100th birthday this month. In an age of fake news, Twitter, “alternative facts” and unconcealed animosity between the president and the media, we talk to two long-time editors of the paper whose founder came up with the motto, “Let the people have the truth and the freedom to discuss it and all will go well.” John Nichols’s and Dave Zweifel’s new book is “The Capital Times: A Proudly Radical Newspaper’s Century-Long Fight for Justice and for Peace.”
