Sherry’s Hungarian Applesauce

  • 8 Medium Cooking apples
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 2 Tbs Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ Cup Lowfat sour cream*
  1. Wash and peel apples.
  2. Cut in quarters and remove cores.
  3. Place in saucepan with water.
  4. Cover and cook until apples are tender, but not falling to pieces.
  5. Mix flour with 1/4 cup of the sugar, add to apples, and cook until thickened.
  6. Stir in remaining sugar, nutmeg, salt, and sour cream.
  7. Serve warm or cold.
