Senator Works to Get Ex-Cons Back into Society, Not Prison

There’s a common misperception that once convicted criminals serve time in prison or pay a fine they’ve paid their debt to society. But state Senator Fred Risser says that’s not the case. This week in Chicago a group of lawyers, judges and state legislators will be debating a model law aimed at removing some of the obstacles facing ex con’s after they’ve served their time.
