During my 2015 Excursion to Peru, I discovered this CD and its companion CD. I purchased it without reviewing it beforehand. Little did I know that copies of it were and are still not easily acquired in the U.S. It was two or three years later before I took some time to listen to it. This recording is an excellent compilation featuring many artists whose names are unknown outside their homeland, other than LOS INCAS DEL PERU.

“The volume compiles a selection of the most popular Andean melodies of the two decades. And includes the leading genders and folk dances as Huayno, danced in coupes with small jumps and taps, the Carnaval and Pasacalle, joyful dances with versed and mischievous lyrics danced in groups, and the Sikuriadas (secured works), played by music groups while dancing in circles with short rhythmic steps. This compilation is an important piece for all the lovers of ethnic and worldwide music.”
I agree and will enthusiastically continue to air tracks from this CD worthy of placement in any world music library. Jonathan
