Three men are dead and three men are seriously injured.

Police said it was a “targeted and isolated” incident. As of 4 p.m., the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department said it had located the suspect and there was no threat to the community.

The Sheriff’s Department hasn’t yet released the names, ages and cities of residence of the victims. During a press conference on Sunday morning, Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said two people died at the scene and another victim got in a vehicle that was driven away from the scene. That person later died.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department received assistance from seven different agencies and eight fire departments to locate the suspect.

State Rep. Deb Andraca of the Wisconsin’s 23rd District tweeted at state Republicans, asking who “is willing to work with me to close the private gun sale loophole? Ensuring a background check on every gun purchase won’t put an end to gun violence, but it will save Wisconsin lives.”

Gov. Tony Evers released a statement thanking first responders who are still working to investigate and find the suspect.

“Kathy and I join Wisconsinites in hoping and praying those injured will recover from their injuries,” Evers said. “We are thinking of the families and loved ones affected and the entire Kenosha community as they grieve and grapple with yet another tragic incident of gun violence.”

According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 151 mass shootings in the U.S. since Jan. 1 of this year. The archive defines a mass shooting as when at minimum four people are shot — either injured or killed. This number doesn’t include the shooter of an incident.
