A police union that regularly backs Gov. Scott Walker and other conservative candidates is endorsing challenger James Daley in the race for state Supreme Court.
Rock County Judge Daley is running against 20-year incumbent Justice Ann Walsh Bradley.
The Milwaukee Police Association has endorsed Daley, saying he has a history of being tough on crime and a friend of law enforcement. Daley said Justice Bradley was on the wrong side of two rulings, about 10 years ago, in a case known as State v. Knapp.

“She makes it more difficult to convict people for the crimes they have committed,” said Daley.
Others saw Bradley as trying to disallow evidence wrongly obtained by police. Bradley’s campaign said she’s proud to have strong support from sheriffs, police chiefs, district attorneys and judges from across Wisconsin.
