- 8 Medium Cooking apples
- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Tbs Flour
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp Salt
- ½ Cup Lowfat sour cream*
- Wash and peel apples.
- Cut in quarters and remove cores.
- Place in saucepan with water.
- Cover and cook until apples are tender, but not falling to pieces.
- Mix flour with 1/4 cup of the sugar, add to apples, and cook until thickened.
- Stir in remaining sugar, nutmeg, salt, and sour cream.
- Serve warm or cold.
