Summerfest saw an increase in attendance this year compared to last year’s event.
Preliminary data shows that the world’s largest music festival hosted a little over 840,000 patrons, a 4.3 percent increase from last year. John Boler is the chief marketing officer for Summerfest. He says that relatively good weather, a diverse music lineup, and the addition of new daytime activities contributed to the increase. Attendees traveled to Milwaukee from all 50 states and 40 countries.
“It still is Milwaukee’s cornerstone event, but clearly, this year, the attendance came from the globe,” said Boler.
