Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee

Catch a Milwaukee Brewers game at American Family Field, formerly Miller Park. Before the game, you can go to the National Bobblehead Museum in Milwaukee or check out the 4th Base restaurant, which was featured in the 1989 movie “Major League.” If you want the full experience, be sure to tailgate in the parking lot before the first pitch. Inside the park, try all the different types of food at the stadium and pay tribute to the late player and broadcaster Bob Uecker by searching for his statue in section 422.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Appleton

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are the High-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. If you want to see what a future major leaguer looks like, this is the team for you. The Timber Rattlers have several promotion nights during the summer, including a one-night-only promotion in July that will transform the team into the “Wisconsin Frozen Pizzas.” Go to a game on a Friday night if you want to see a post-game fireworks show!

Snowshoe Baseball

Tomahawk Lake

A group of Northwoods baseball enthusiasts strap on snowshoes on Monday nights in the summer to play baseball. Fans can watch the hilarious sight for free. The field is covered in sawdust before games to make it easier for the players. The league started in Tomahawk Lake in the 1960s and is still a popular way to spend a summer night in the area.

Menomonie Blue Caps

Menomonie

The Blue Caps are an old-time baseball club that takes the name from a team that played in Wisconsin from 1882 to 1941. All players wear the same uniforms that the team used at that time, and they play by rules from 1860. The pitcher throws underhanded and a foul ball doesn’t count as a strike. The team plays against similar teams across the Midwest. Check their website for more information on how to catch a game.
