Wisconsin utilities are investing to meet demands of the AI data center boom. But utility customers and local communities could be left paying the bills if the AI industry goes bust, utility watchdog warns.

Menards will pay $750,000 to the State of Wisconsin as part of a multistate consumer protection settlement, Attorney General Josh Kaul announced Wednesday.

Wisconsinites should protect themselves from scammers impersonating real or fake charities this season, state officials said. 

Ten Wisconsin breeders were listed on the Humane Society’s 2024 “Horrible Hundred” report. The report’s author suggests that the actual number of problematic dog breeders in the state is likely even higher.
