A “Simply Folk” listener recently sent an email that read “Music is a medicine,” and I think that’s certainly true in these challenging times.

With that spirit in mind, cellist Yo-Yo Ma has shared music on YouTube tagged #songsofcomfort, and other musicians around the world – famous and not-so-famous — have been doing the same. PBS’ NewsHour recently did a story about this.

In that spirit as well, I recorded a song I wrote, titled “Gratitude.” I share it with a wish that you experience moments of peace and gratitude in the coming days and weeks. Even as we distance ourselves physically, we can still experience solidarity and work as a community to bring healing and hope.
