Pianist Michael Doerr joins Norman Gilliland in Michelsen Hall on the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point campus. Doerr was a finalist in the 2012 Bolz Young Artist Competition. A native of Eagle River, WI, Mr. Doerr started playing piano at the age of five.
Mr. Doerr plays the Beethoven Piano Sonata in E-flat, two sonata’s by Domenico Scarlatti, Evocation by Isaac Albéniz, and the third movement of Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata No. 7 “Precipitato”. The performance was also record by Wisconsin Public Television for later broadcast and streaming.
