Milwaukee’s Urban Ecology Center got its start in a double-wide trailer in Riverside Park, a neglected urban green space during the early 1990s. Now it’s a flourishing environmental education and nature center attracting youth from nearby neighborhoods to explore science through hands-on experiences and mentorship. We hear how the center has transformed the lives of young people with an author who captured their stories.
