Wisconsin’s Dark Sky Initiatives
Tamara Dean mentions the Kickapoo Valley Dark Sky Initiative in her essay “Night Vision.” But did you know that there is a DarkSky Certified park in Wisconsin — one of only two in the Midwest and 46 in the entire world. It’s Newport State Park, located at the northern tip of Door County on the western shore of Lake Michigan. You can learn about other dark sky initiatives around the state at DarkSky Wisconsin.
