Sara’s new next door neighbor, Mr. Carrisford, has been looking for a certain child who he is convinced is in Paris because her mother was French. The man is Ralph Crewe’s business partner and he has a fortune to give Sara. Then, Sara finds money in the gutter and uses it to buy five buns, but gives four of them to a beggar girl who is even hungrier than she is.
