Dane County Prepares For More Rain Amid Extensive Flooding
Recent torrential rains throughout Wisconsin caused historic flooding throughout Dane County. Portions of the county are still flooded and the water level is rising on Lakes Mendota and Monona, potentially disrupting traffic along one of Madison’s busiest thoroughfares. Americans Are Having Fewer Babies Since 2008 Recession
Since the 2008 recession, the fertility rate in the United States has declined. A recent survey conducted by the New York Times found many Americans cite personal reasons for deciding not to have children. But they also cite economic concerns, such as not being able to afford children. We speak with Stephanie Coontz, Professor of History and Family Studies at Evergreen State University, about the survey and what it could mean for families in the future.
