Although U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore continues to assert that Gov. Scott Walker’s policies hurt African-Americans, the Milwaukee Democrat has dropped more contentious wording.
During a conference call Monday, Moore said Walker’s policies are “tightening the noose, literally, around African-Americans.”
After an event in Milwaukee Wednesday, Moore avoided using such language. However, she didn’t apologize to Walker either.

“If anything, he should apologize, I think, for his deliberate efforts during his tenure as governor to increase the misery index among African-Americans,” said Moore.
Moore pointed to Walker’s attempt to drug-test people who receive food assistance and his backing of the state’s voter ID law as examples of policies that are hurting the black population.
Walker’s presidential campaign has called Moore’s language from earlier this week “inappropriate.”
