Wisconsin Delegate Calls for Change in Appointment Process

Impeachment proceedings resume today in the Illinois Senate against Governor Rod Blagojevich.He’s already been impeached by the Illinois House, and has been indicted for trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President Obama.

Another recent Senate appointment, in New York state, was much less controversial, but fraught with its own problems. The solution, according to U.S. Senator Russ Feingold, is an amendment to the U-S Constitution to make special elections for vacant Senate seats mandatory in all 50 states, just like Wisconsin.WPR’s Terry Bell talked to Senator Feingold about his proposal…
