Study Reveals Surprisings ER Use

Some states have considered limiting access to crowded emergergency rooms by providing care only to citizens, and not to undocumented immigrants. But one study of ER use around the country shows communities with a lot of uninsured or immigrant residents actually have lower rates of usage. The study by a nonprofit national group called Health System Change says the people most likely to be in the waiting room may be the elderly. Wisconsin hospital officials say that also holds true for Wisconsin. Shamane Mills reports…
