51-Year-Old Man From Iowa Dies In Crash In Bayfield County

By

A 51 year-old Iowa man died in a snowmobile accident near Clam Lake in Bayfield County on Sunday.

The crash scene was near the Sawyer and Ashland county borders, so the sheriff departments from each county responded, along with the Clam Lake First Responders, the Glidden Volunteer Ambulance and Great Divide Ambulance.

Bayfield County Chief Deputy Dan Clark says while the crash is still under investigation, he says speed may have been a cause. A sharp turn followed a straightaway on the snowmobile trail, and the snowmobile struck a tree.
