The Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison is turning part of its land into a North American Prairie. It’s one of the Zoo’s latest efforts to educate people on habitat preservation, since the loss of a species’ natural setting is the leading cause of extinction. Zoo officials say they hope more projects like this one will help people connect with the wildlife they share the planet with and make them more aware of their responsibility to preserve it.
