The former president of the school board that fired a teacher whose case has become embroiled in Wisconsin’s governor’s race has cut a television ad in support of Democrat Tony Evers.

Former Middleton-Cross Plains School Board President Ellen Lindgren appears in the ad released Friday by Evers. Republican Gov. Scott Walker has used the case of a Middleton middle school teacher who viewed pornographic images on his school computer against Evers.

Evers is the state superintendent but he did not revoke the teacher’s license.

Lindgren says in the ad that two courts upheld an arbitrator’s decision giving the teacher his job back and “That’s why Tony Evers worked with both parties to change the law.”

Evers supported broadening the cases where he could revoke a teacher’s license.
