Bill Would Grant Legal Aid to More of the State’s Poor

Advocates for legal aid to the poor have been trying for more than a decade to raise the income level Wisconsin uses to decide who is poor enough to havea public defender.A bill that got a hearing in the state capitol yesterday/ today would apply the same criteria used to for the state’s welfare to work progam.
