According to some, guitarist and singer Samba Touré is a soft-spoken man, charming with an optimistic gait. The cataclysmic changes and upheaval to northern Mali, his homeland have not dimmed his rich expressions in music and, coupled with his well-digested lessons from the late Ali Farka Touré, Samba’s sound, displayed on the album “Gandadiko” on the Glitterbeat Record Label is equally as charming as his demeanor. His album “Albala” is worth hearing as well.
