Ana Lila Downs Sánchez best known as Lila Downs is a Mexican singer–songwriter. She performs her own compositions as well as those works illuminating both Mexican traditional and popular music. Downs also incorporates ‘indigenous’ mexican influences into her musical creations and has recorded songs in a number of indigenous languages including mixtec, sapotec, and maiya. Among her many celebrated albums, “Shake Away”, Blue Note, 2008 showcases her talent, musicianship and affinity for varied styles of music.
