Milwaukee’s outgoing police Chief Ed Flynn is leveling charges of misconduct against the head of the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission, MaryNell Regan, according to reporting from WISN-TV in Milwaukee.

Flynn is accusing Regan of trying to interfere with an internal investigation into a police captain.

Last year that captain asked to look at City Hall surveillance video, and gave shifting explanations when asked why.

A surveillance image of the captain and Regan was then discovered during the investigation. Police found he was attempting to look at the footage for personal reasons that included Regan.

Flynn told the TV station Regan told him to stop the investigation or she would sue. She disputes that, saying she told Flynn it was inappropriate to investigate her.

Milwaukee Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton said he will investigate Flynn’s allegations.
