The Natural Resources Board has approved what Department of Natural Resources staff says are emergency, but minor changes to a process of reviewing state environmental policies and projects.
The DNR says the changes were needed to maintain the intent of a major overhaul promoted by the Walker administration and passed last year.
Lawyers for the Madison-based group Midwest Environmental Advocates says the plan passed on Wednesday could weaken reviews of some projects that don’t merit a lengthy environmental impact statement.
