While a lot of attention is being paid to a proposed iron mine near Hurley, other mining companies have been quietly exploring the prospects for gold mining in central and northern Wisconsin.
There are a handful of potential sites for gold mines, but the likeliest appears to be near Wausau.It’s caught the eye of a firm based in Michigan and Canada.
