Wisconsin Treasurer Adamczyk To Run For State Assembly

Wisconsin Treasurer Matt Adamczyk says he is running for the state Assembly.

The Republican Adamczyk said Tuesday he will run for the traditionally conservative 14th Assembly District that includes portions of the cities of Brookfield, Milwaukee and Wauwatosa. The seat is currently held by Republican Rep. Dale Kooyenga who is running for state Senate.

Adamczyk is finishing his first term as state treasurer and the position may not exist next year. A constitutional amendment doing away with the office is up for voter approval in the April election. Adamczyk has been supportive of doing away with the office.

The treasurer’s only duty is serving on a board that makes loans to municipalities and school districts from a $1 billion trust funded by the sale of public lands.
