Survey: Wisconsin Employers Project Positive Hiring Numbers

Filter Says 'Not Many Companies Are Laying Off'

By

A new hiring forecast for Wisconsin continues to show positive numbers for the months ahead.

The latest quarterly hiring survey from Milwaukee-based ManpowerGroup shows 29 percent of Wisconsin employers plan to add jobs during the next three months. Four percent expect job cuts while nearly two-thirds of employers say there’ll be no change.

Todd Filter, of ManpowerGroup, said there’s still often job movement within the no-change firms and agencies.

“We’re still seeing a lot of individuals moving between jobs, opportunities with companies,” Filter said. “The key is not many companies are laying off.”

ManpowerGroup officials described the Wisconsin jobs picture bullish, but it’s a tad worse than for the current quarter.
