WPR’s 2nd annual Classical Music Day

Join WPR and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in supporting Wisconsin’s young musicians at the second annual WPR Classical Music Day.

The event is Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bradley Symphony Center in Milwaukee. It is free and open to all ages.

You’ll hear amazing performing groups from around the Milwaukee area, including the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Senior Symphony, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, the Wauwatosa East High School Chamber Orchestra and the Marquette University Chorus. They will play a variety of works, including pieces by Camille Saint-Saëns, George Gershwin and John Williams.

The concert will be emceed by WPR’s “Drivetime Classics” Host Jason Heilman.

“The talent and joy these young musicians bring is amazing,” Heilman said. “It will be an evening that longtime classical fans will appreciate — and a perfect entry point for anyone who’s been curious about what makes this music so moving.”
