This year marks one hundred years since the Spanish flu took the lives of over 20 to 50 million worldwide. We talk to the author of a new book about how the virus became so widespread. We also discuss the details of the labor department’s proposed changes to youth work laws and take a look the Trump Administration’s unveiling the the new U.S. embassy in Jerusalem amid violent clashes along the Gaze border.

    The United States relocated the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Monday. The move fulfilled President Trump’s promise to move the embassy and recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel. It’s a break from decades of United States policy on Israel and the Middle East. The unveiling of the embassy yesterday was overshadowed by violent clashes along the Gaza border that left at least 60 Palestinian protesters dead and many more injured. Dan Arbell of American University joins us to talk about the embassy move, the protests, and the impact the United States could have in the Middle East.
