High school class learns Milwaukee history through cleaning gravestones
Milwaukee’s oldest cemetery is getting some of its headstones restored by high school seniors as part of a volunteer school program connecting students to their communities while learning about links to their studies in social justice. We talk with a pair of Marquette University High School students who worked on the gravestones, as well as their English teacher, about what they’re learning about Milwaukee history through volunteering.
