A transgender middle school student filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Elkhorn Area School District for denying her access to girls’ restrooms. Governor Tony Evers is expected to sign legislation allocating money to survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. But groups serving marginalized communities say they might be left out. Wisconsin school boards in the last few years have been at the center of the culture wars. With school board elections next week, Corrinne Hess will explain how this could influence who voters elect.
