Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate approved a state budget that cuts taxes but doesn’t fund some of Democratic Governor Tony Evers’ key priorities. In draft legislation, the top five percent of Wisconsin high school graduates would be guaranteed a spot at UW-Madison. And, with more frequent extreme heat, we could see more shortages in the state’s electric grids.
