The Legislature’s finance committee shot down about $1 million in grants for a boat launch in the city of Ashland, even though the committee previously signed off on similar funds for another northern Wisconsin marina. Some high schools Racine have turned away from accepting cash when selling tickets to school events. That’s prompted protests by students and community members. And, Wisconsin lawmakers passed two bills last week to unlock $78 million in federal funding to build a network of electric vehicle charging stations.
