State Capitol Report: Wisconsin Supreme Court Candidates

The race for an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court is officially nonpartisan. But voters could be forgiven for not knowing that. Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Rebecca Dallet and Sauk County Circuit Court Judge Michael Screnock have been collecting endorsements and contributions from decidedly partisan sources — Screnock from Republicans, Dallet from Democrats. In advance of the April 3rd election, we talk with the candidates about their judicial philosophies, and with a longtime political observer about the campaigns and the politics of judicial elections in Wisconsin.
