First elected in 2009, state Rep. Nick Milroy of Superior is retiring from the Wisconsin Assembly this year. Hoping to replace him in the 73rd District seat are Democrat Laura Gapske of Superior and Republican Angie Sapik of Lake Nebagamon. The two were invited to share their positions on issues ranging from Enbridge Energy’s expansion projects to abortion rights with “Simply Superior” host Robin Washington.

Also, Superior singer-songwriter Shane Nelson first met Zach Ross in a high school math class, where instead of concentrating on a test, Ross was practicing beats with air drums and pencils. That grew into a fast friendship and musical partnership through their band, Crescent Moon. Ross’s life tragically ended this summer with his death at age 28 in a single-car accident in rural Wisconsin. Nelson joins Washington to pay tribute to his friend and collaborator.
