In a debate between the candidates vying for Wisconsin’s District 73 Assembly seat, moderator Robin Washington proposes the idea of adding another “S” to Douglas county, thereby honoring Frederick Douglass rather than Stephan A. Douglas. One of the candidates answered with praise for Frederick Douglass, but neither offered a word about Stephen A. Douglas. Did they not know who the man was for whom the county was named – and who squared off against Lincoln in the mother of all political debates? Hear their responses on this edition of “Simply Superior.”

Incumbent Nick Milroy-D, of Superior, and challenger Keith Kern-R also of Superior, also delve into other topics, including the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, race relations, a massive power plant for the region and Superior’s proposed exposition zone consistently thwarted by the Legislature.
